Summit Beer Dinner
Who’s getting older…
SUMMIT BREWING! Celebrating 25 years of brewing traditions right here in Saint Paul. The Happy Gnome is excited to welcome Summit for an evening to explore their passion for beer, and specifically cask conditioned ale. A beer dinner to try cask and draft side by side, to learn really what is put in these “firkins” and enjoy a 5 course meal from executive chef Scott Brink.
Cost $65. Tuesday, November 15. 6pm meet & greet, 7pm dinner.
Goose Island Beer Dinner
We all know, not all beer is created equal.
So come and learn why Goose Island has created their vintage and extreme beer line with Suzanne Wolcott and Tom Korder. Suzanne is the “expert” on food and how to incorporate food with enjoying beer, while Tom has the huge responsibility of coming up with new brews for Goose Island.
And then add an amazing 5 course meal from The Happy Gnome’s executive chef Scott Brink…a night of true enjoyment.
Planned beer line up: Matilda, Pere Jacques, Pepe Nero, Dominique, Nightstalker ’09 (yep, we’ve had this one waiting for the right night), and then Bourbon County Stout ’07 (the BCS is bottled, rest are kegs).
Tuesday, October 18. 6pm meet & greet, 7pm dinner served. No assigned seating. Tax, gratuity, and ticket service charge INCLUDED. $85.
The one, the only: Garrett Oliver
Garrett Oliver is the Brewmaster of The Brooklyn Brewery, the author of The Brewmaster’s Table, and the foremost authority in the United States on the subject of traditional beer. He recently authored the Oxford Companion to beer.
So Sunday, October 9th, from 3-5pm you can come and meet Mr. Oliver at The Happy Gnome. In the intimate setting of our upstairs Firehouse Room, you will be able to talk to Garrett, get a book signed (the Happy Gnome will have copies of the Oxford Companion to Beer available for sale), and try some crazy wonderful brews specially brought in for this event.
Mark your calendars, keep posted, and please come welcome this beer pioneer to MN.
